Some customers have asked: “Your photos look so professional — are they edited? Will the actual bag look different in person?”

This is a fair question, and we understand the concern. But we’d like to explain what goes on behind the scenes.
1. Great Photos ≠ Color Manipulation
First, let’s be clear: we make bags, not photography.
At RWI TOP, we use professional camera equipment costing over $40,000 USD (approx. 280,000 RMB) per set — and that’s just our “standard” gear. We also use professional lighting and color-calibrated monitors to capture each bag as accurately as possible.
This equipment isn’t used to “beautify” products — it’s used to minimize color distortion and show you the bag’s true appearance. Those quick phone photos on social media? They’re not “more real” — they’re just less accurate. Phone cameras auto-adjust white balance and colors, often creating significant color shifts. Better equipment = more accurate reproduction — that’s basic logic.

2. Equipment Alone Isn’t Enough
Even with $40,000+ in gear, you need someone who understands photography, lighting, and leather to operate it. Different leathers react differently to light — Togo’s matte texture, Swift’s high saturation, crocodile’s natural sheen — each requires custom lighting setups.
We invested in professional photographers who specialize in leather product photography, so what you see on screen is as close as possible to what you’ll hold in your hands.

3. Color Variation Is Universal
Here’s a fact many overlook: even Hermès’ official website photos don’t perfectly match the physical bags.
Try it yourself — screenshot an Étoupe Birkin from the Hermès website, then go to a boutique and compare it to the actual bag. Are they identical? Probably not. Because different screens, different lighting, different environments — all affect perceived color.
This isn’t an excuse — it’s physics. Temperature, humidity, ambient lighting, even your phone’s brightness setting, all change how a color appears on screen.

4. Our Confidence: We Source from the Same Tanneries
While we can’t eliminate color variation across screens, there’s one thing we can guarantee: the color itself is accurate.
Because RWI TOP sources its leather from the same suppliers as Hermès — HAAS for calfskin, Xinglong Group for exotic leathers. When Hermès uses a specific batch of “Elephant Grey” (Étoupe), we source from the same batch.
We don’t “copy colors” — we use the exact same leather. So when you hold our bag next to an authentic piece at a boutique, the color will match.

5. The Most Direct Way to Verify
If you still have concerns, we offer one honest suggestion:
Take it to a boutique and compare.
Take our bag to any Hermès boutique and place it next to an authentic piece. Compare the color, the grain, the hardware, the feel — compare everything. We have nothing to hide.
If you still believe our photos don’t represent the actual color, ask an Hermès sales associate: “Why does the website color look different from the bag in-store?” Ask a US boutique if you’re in the US, or a China boutique if you’re in China — they’ll give you the same answer: online images are for reference; the physical bag is the final authority.

6. What We Actually Promise
Here’s what we want every customer to understand:
RWI TOP doesn’t sell pictures — we sell physical bags. Photos are just a medium, a tool to show you what to expect.
What we promise is this: the bag you receive will match the boutique authentic in color, will stand up to the magnifying glass in quality, and will pass every detail comparison.
If you receive your bag and feel the color doesn’t match — we offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Take it to a boutique, compare it side by side. If you find a discrepancy, we’ll take it back, no questions asked.
Because we know — that won’t happen.
